Amid pick up in demand from consuming industries in the spot market and restricted supplies from producing regions, mentha oil prices were up by 0.53 per cent to Rs 832 per kg in futures trading today.

Besides, tight stocks position on restricted supplies from major producing regions of Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh fuelled the uptrend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in March rose by Rs 4.40, or 0.53 per cent, to Rs 832 per kg, in a business turnover of 118 lots.

On similar lines, the oil for delivery in far-month April traded higher by Rs 3.10, or 0.37 per cent, to Rs 839 per kg in 170 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions built up by traders on the back of pick up in demand from consuming industries in the spot markets mainly led to the rise in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
