Mentha oil prices were up by 1.10 per cent to Rs 1,649.70 per kg in futures market Thursday as market participants enlarged their positions following improved demands from consuming industries in spot market.
Moreover, restricted supply from growing regions added the upside.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in October rose by Rs 18, or 1.10 per cent, to Rs 1,649.70 per kg, clocking a business volume of 230 lots.
The oil for delivery in November was trading higher by Rs 16.80, or 1.01 per cent, to Rs 1,664.30 per kg, with a trading volume of 30 lots.
Marketmen said raising of bets by speculators, driven by surging demand from consuming industries at the spot market against restricted supplies from Chandausi, led to the gain in mentha oil prices in futures trade.
