Mentha oil gains by 0.3% on spot demand

Tight stock positions in the physical market following restricted supplies also helped prices

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Mentha oil prices gained 0.29% to Rs 777.80 per kg in futures market today on improved demand from consuming industries in spot markets.

Further, tight stock positions in the physical market following restricted supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh, supported mentha oil prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in March moved up by Rs 2.30, or 0.29%, to Rs 777.80 per kg in a business turnover of 80 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in February traded higher by Rs 1.90, or 0.24%, to Rs 768 per kg in 376 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions created by speculators on the back of improved demand from consuming industries in spot markets against restricted supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh led to rise in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
