Mentha oil up 0.9% on strong demand

Oil for delivery in February traded higher by 0.85%

Mentha oil prices rose by Rs 6.60 to Rs 737.20 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions, driven by strong demand at spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in January contracts rose by Rs 6.60, or 0.90%, to Rs 737.20 per kg in business turnover of 389 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in February traded higher by Rs 6.30, or 0.85%, to Rs 747.20 per kg in 41 lots.

Analysts said speculators created fresh positions on the back of strong demand from consuming industries in spot markets against less arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh.
