Mentha oil rises by 0.4% on spot demand

Speculators enlarged positions, supported by rising demand in the spot markets from consuming industries

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Mentha oil futures prices today rose 0.38% to Rs 727.40 per kg as speculators enlarged positions, supported by rising demand in the spot markets.

Besides, restricted arrivals in the spot markets from producing regions too fuelled the uptrend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in December gained Rs 2.80, or 0.38%, to Rs 727.40 per kg, with a trading volume of 132 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in January 2015 edged up by Rs 2.20, or 0.29%, to Rs 737.80 per kg, with a business turnover of 59 lots.

Marketmen said a firming trend at the spot markets amid restricted supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh, mainly influenced mentha oil prices at futures trade here.
