Participants created fresh positions after demand picked up from consuming industries in the spot market

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Mentha oil prices edged higher by 0.29% to Rs 901.90 per kg in futures trade today as participants created fresh positions after demand picked up from consuming industries in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in May went up by Rs 2.60, or 0.29%, to Rs 901.90 per kg in a business turnover of 33 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in April contracts gained Rs 2.50, or 0.28%, to Rs 890.40 per kg in 222 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions built up by speculators, driven by pick-up in demand from consuming industries in the spot market against restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh, mainly pushed up mentha oil prices at futures trade.
