Mentha oil up 0.2% on spot demand

Oil for delivery in February traded higher by 0.15%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Mentha oil prices marginally higher by 0.20% to Rs 817 per kg in futures market today as speculators built up positions supported by rising demand from consuming industries in spot markets.

Further, tight stocks position in the physical market following restricted arrivals from producing region also supported the uptrend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in January moved up by Rs 1.70, or 0.20%, to Rs 815.40 per kg in business turnover of 127 lots.

Similarly, oil for delivery in February traded higher by Rs 1.30, or 0.15%, to Rs 826.70 per kg in 167 lots.

Analysts said speculators created fresh positions on the back of a rise in demand from consuming industries in the spot market against restricted supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh that led to rise in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
