Mentha oil maintained an upward march for the third straight day and prices climbed over 1 per cent to Rs 928.70 per kg in futures trade today, amid rising domestic demand and tight supplies from producing belts.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in June month advanced by Rs 9.50, or 1.03 per cent to Rs 928.70 per kg in business turnover of 59 lots.

The May contract traded higher by Rs 8.70, or 0.96 per cent to Rs 913.90 per kg in 241 lots.

Analysts said besides rising demand from consuming industries in the spot market, restricted arrivals from producing Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly kept mentha oil prices higher at futures trade.
