Mentha oil prices fell further by 0.54% to Rs 712.80 per kg in futures trading today as speculators engaged in reducing positions amidst low demand from consuming industries.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in December shed Rs 4.10, or 0.54%, to Rs 712.80 per kg in a business turnover of 617 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in January next year traded lower by Rs 2.90, or 0.40%, to Rs 724.50 per kg in 539 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by speculators on low demand from consuming industries in spot market against higher supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh kept pressure on mentha oil prices at futures trade.
