Mentha oil prices fell further by 0.25 per cent to Rs 1,023.10 per kg in futures trading today as traders engaged in reducing their positions, taking negative cues from spot market on sluggish demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in January month declined by Rs 2.60, or 0.25 per cent to Rs 1,023.10 per kg in business turnover of 268 lots.
Likewise, the oil for delivery in February month contracts shed Rs 1.40, or 0.14 per cent to Rs 1,029.40 per kg in 26 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by participants owing to tepid demand from consuming industries in spot market against adequate stocks position, mainly kept mentha oil prices down at futures trade.
