Mentha oil rises 0.19% as demand picks up

Speculators create fresh positions on higher offtake from consuming industries

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Mentha oil prices rose 0.19 per cent to Rs 674 per kg in futures market today as speculators indulged in creating positions supported by rising demand from consuming industries in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in October edged up by Rs 1.30, or 0.19 per cent, to Rs 674 per kg in a business turnover of 532 lots.

The November contract rose by a similar margin to trade at Rs 683.60 per kg in 257 lots.

Market analysts said besides pick up in demand from consuming industries in the spot market, restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly led to the rise in mentha oil prices in futures trade.
