Mentha oil rises by 0.2% as demand picks up

Participants created fresh positions amid pick-up in domestic demand and tight supplies from producing regions

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Mentha oil prices gained 0.22% to Rs 822.40 per kg in futures trade today as participants created fresh positions amid pick-up in domestic demand and tight supplies from producing regions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in April rose by Rs 1.80, or 0.22%, to Rs 822.40 per kg in a business turnover of 213 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in March contracts edged up by 90 paise, or 0.11%, to Rs 811.70 per kg in 135 lots.

Analysts said apart from rising demand from consuming industries at spot markets, restricted supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly influenced mentha oil prices at futures trade.
