Mentha oil rises by 0.3% on spot demand

Speculators built up positions on the back of pick up in demand from consuming industries

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Mentha oil rose by 0.29% to Rs 842.70 per kg in futures market today as speculators built up positions on the back of pick up in demand from consuming industries in the spot markets amid lower arrivals from producing regions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in January rose by Rs 2.40, or 0.29%, to Rs 842.70 per kg in business turnover of 88 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in February traded higher by Rs 1.20, or 0.14% to Rs 852 per kg in 10 lots.

Analysts attributed the rise in mentha oil futures to pick up in demand from consuming industries in the spot market amid lower arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh, mainly led to rise in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
