Amid pick up in domestic demand and tight supplies, mentha oil futures traded higher by 0.37 per cent to Rs 673 per kg today as speculators indulged in creating fresh positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in September moved up by Rs 2.50, or 0.37 per cent to Rs 673 per kg in business turnover of 273 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in October edged up by Rs 2.20, or 0.32 per cent to Rs 683.30 per kg in 63 lots.

Market analysts said speculators built-up fresh positions, driven by pick-up in demand from consuming industries in the spot market, mainly led to the rise in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
