Mentha oil rises by 0.4% on pick-up in demand

Speculators created fresh positions amid pick-up in domestic demand

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Mentha oil prices gained 0.44% to Rs 768 per kg in futures trading today as speculators created fresh positions amid pick-up in domestic demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in February rose by Rs 3.40, or 0.44%, to Rs 768 per kg in a business turnover of 148 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in March edged up by Rs 2.10, or 0.27%, to Rs 776 per kg in 313 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions built up by speculators after demand picked up in the spot market against limited supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh led to rise in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
