Oil for delivery in January next year traded higher by 0.62%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Mentha oil prices gained 0.64% to Rs 723 per kg in futures market today as speculators created fresh positions amid pick-up in domestic demand and tight supplies from producing belts.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in December rose by Rs 4.60, or 0.64%, to Rs 723 per kg in a business turnover of 524 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in January next year traded higher by Rs 4.50, or 0.62%, to Rs 734 per kg in 808 lots.

Market analysts said speculators built up fresh positions on rising demand from consuming industries against restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh which led to the rise in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
