Mentha oil futures traded higher

by 0.77 per cent to Rs 1,798.10 per kg today as participants raised bets amid uptick in demand from consuming industries at the spot market against restricted arrivals from producing regions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery

in September shot up by Rs 13.70, or 0.77 per cent to Rs 1,798.10 per kg in business turnover of 186 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in August was trading higher by Rs 12.90, or 0.75 per cent to Rs 1,742 per kg in 20 lots.

Marketmen said expanding of positions by traders after demand picked up from consuming industries at the spot market against restricted supplies from Chandausi, led to the rise in mentha oil prices in futures trade.
