Mentha oil rises 0.85% on fresh buying

Pick up in industrial demand, lower arrivals from producing

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Mentha oil futures rose 0.85 per cent to Rs 722.60 per kg today as traders created fresh positions on pick-up in industrial demand.

Restricted arrivals from major producing regions also influenced mentha oil futures.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in July gained Rs 6.10, or 0.85 per cent, to Rs 722.60 per kg, with a trading volume of 505 lots.

The August contract rose by Rs 5.70, or 0.77 per cent, to Rs 737.90 per kg, with a business turnover of 93 lots.

Marketmen said fresh positions created by traders, following pick-up in spot demand and lower arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh, pushed up the prices of mentha oil at futures trade.
