Press Trust of India New Delhi
Mentha oil prices rose by 1.22 per cent to Rs 873.90 per kg in futures market today as traders created fresh positions after demand picked up from consuming indutries in the spot market.

Also, tight stocks position in the physical market on restricted supplies from growing regions fuelled the uptrend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in May month rose by Rs 10.50, or 1.22 per cent to Rs 873.90 per kg in business turnover of 190 lots.

On similar lines, the oil for delivery in far-month June contracts moved up by Rs 9.30, or 1.07 per cent to Rs 881.80 per kg in 19 lots.

Market analysts said apart from uptick in demand from consuming industries in the spot market, tight stocks position on restricted supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly attributed the rise in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
