Mentha oil futures traded a shade higher at 0.07% to Rs 698.50 per kg today as speculators created fresh positions supported by rising demand from consuming industries in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in August edged up by 50 paise, or 0.07% to Rs 698.50 per kg in business turnover of 282 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in September traded higher by 20 paise, or 0.03% to Rs 711 per kg in 230 lots.
Market Analysts said fresh positions built up by speculators on improved demand from consuming industries in the spot market amid lower arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly led to the rise in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
