Mentha oil prices softened by 0.15 per cent to Rs 1,251.70 per kg in futures trading today as participants reduced their exposure amid subdued demand from consuming industries in the spot market.

In futures trading at the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in October fell by Rs 1.90, or 0.15 per cent to Rs 1,251.70 per kg in business turnover of 468 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in November was trading lower by Rs 1.50, or 0.12 per cent to Rs 1,267.10 per kg in 117 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by traders owing to slackened demand from consuming industries in the physical market against adequate stocks position, mainly influenced mentha oil prices at futures trade.
