Mentha oil prices traded lower by 0.17 per cent to Rs 1,025.30 per kg in futures trade today as speculators cut down their bets, taking negative cues from spot market on subdued demand from consuming industries.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in February declined by Rs 1.70, or 0.17 per cent, to Rs 1,025.30 per kg, in a business turnover of 140 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in March shed Rs 1.40, or 0.14 per cent, to Rs 1,035 per kg in 44 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by participants amid tepid demand from consuming industries in spot market, mainly led to the decline in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
