Mentha oil falls by 0.3% on profit-booking

Speculators booked profits at prevailing levels amid a fall in demand in the spot market

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Mentha oil prices fell by 0.33% to Rs 811.20 per kg in futures trading today as speculators booked profits at prevailing levels amid a fall in demand in the spot market.

Adequate stocks position on increased supplies from producing belts also put pressure on mentha oil prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in April eased by Rs 2.70, or 0.33%, to Rs 811.20 per kg in a business turnover of 62 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in March shed Rs 2.40, or 0.30%, to Rs 800.50 per kg in 253 lots.

The slide in mentha oil prices at futures trade was mostly due to profit-booking by speculators at existing levels amidst decline in demand from consuming industries in the spot market, analysts said.
