Mentha oil up 0.2% as demand picks up

Oil for delivery in March contracts traded higher by 0.23%

Helped by pick up in domestic demand, mentha oil prices traded higher by 0.24% to Rs 823 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh position.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in April edged up by Rs 2, or 0.24%, to Rs 823 per kg in business turnover of 62 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in March contracts traded higher by Rs 1.90, or 0.23%, to Rs 813.50 per kg in 236 lots.

Analysts said rising demand from consuming industries in the spot market amid restricted supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh led to rise in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
