Oil for delivery in October edged up by 0.25%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Mentha oil prices rose 0.27% to Rs 678.60 per kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged positions, supported by rising demand from consuming industries in the spot market.

Besides, restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh fuelled the uptrend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in September advanced by Rs 1.80, or 0.27%, to Rs 678.60 per kg in a business turnover of 198 lots.

In a similar fashion, the oil for delivery in October edged up by Rs 1.70, or 0.25%, to Rs 689.80 per kg in 45 lots.

Market analysts said speculators enlarging their positions, driven by rising demand from consuming industries in the spot market, mainly kept mentha oil prices up at futures trade.
