Mentha oil prices were up 0.73 per cent to Rs 922.50 per kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged positions, supported by pick up in demand from consuming industries at spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in September gained Rs 6.70, or 0.73 per cent to Rs 922.50 per kg in a business turnover of 324 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in October contracts traded higher by Rs 6, or 0.65 per cent to Rs 935 per kg in 69 lots.

Market analysts said besides pick up in demand from consuming industries in the spot market against restricted supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh, mainly led to rise in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
