Mentha oil up 1% on tight supply

Oil for delivery in July contracts traded higher by 0.86%

Mentha oil prices advanced by 1.00 per cent to Rs 1,047.80 per kg in futures market today as speculators enlarged positions, triggered by tight supplies at the spot market.

Also , a pickup in demand from consuming industries fuelled the uptrend.

At Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in June rose by Rs 10.40, or 1.00 per cent to Rs 1,047.80 per kg in a business turnover of 1,025 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in July contracts traded higher by Rs 9.10, or 0.86 per cent to Rs 1,064.00 per kg in 269 lots.

Market analysts said tight supplies from Chandausi, Uttar Pradesh, in the physical market coupled with pickup in demand, mainly kept mentha oil prices higher at futures trade.
