Mentha oil falls by 0.3% on profit-booking

Speculators booked profits at prevailing levels amid a fall in demand in the spot market

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Mentha oil prices fell by 0.29% to Rs 829 per kg in futures trading today as speculators booked profits at prevailing levels.

Adequate stocks position on higher supplies from producing belts also put pressure on mentha oil prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in March eased by Rs 2.40, or 0.29%, to Rs 829 per kg in a business turnover of 229 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in April traded lower by a similar margin to Rs 829 per kg in 41 lots.

Market analysts said besides profit-booking by speculators at existing levels, fall in demand from consuming industries in the spot market led to the decline in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
