Mentha oil up 0.5% on pick-up in demand

Oil for February delivery traded higher by 0.49%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Mentha oil prices rose 0.50% to Rs 755.10 per kg in futures market today after traders created fresh positions amid pick-up in demand from consuming industries in spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in March rose by Rs 3.80, or 0.50%, to Rs 755.10 per kg, clocking a business volume of 117 lots.

The oil for February delivery traded higher by Rs 3.70, or 0.49%, to Rs 744.90 per kg, with a trading volume of 221 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions built up by speculators on the back of a rise in demand from consuming industries in the spot market against restricted supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh led to rise in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
