Oil for April contracts traded higher by 0.56%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Mentha oil prices rose by 0.62% to Rs 859.70 per kg in futures trade today on the back of increased domestic as well as exports demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in March rose by Rs 5.30, or 0.62%, to Rs 859.70 per kg, clocking a business volume of 158 lots.

The oil for April contracts traded higher by Rs 4.90, or 0.56%, to Rs 868.20 per kg, with a trading volume of 42 lots.

Analysts said speculators created fresh positions on the back of a rise in demand from consuming industries in the spot market against restricted supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh that led to rise in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
