Mentha oil up 0.5% on spot demand

Oil for delivery in June contract traded higher by 0.38%

Mentha oil prices rose 0.51% to Rs 830 per kg in futures market today as speculators created fresh positions, driven by pick-up in spot demand from consuming industries.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in May rose by Rs 4.20, or 0.51% to Rs 830 per kg in business turnover of 144 lots.

On the similar lines, the oil for delivery in June contract traded higher by Rs 3.20, or 0.38% to Rs 839.30 per kg in 29 lots.

Analysts said the rise in mentha oil prices at futures trade was mostly attributed to fresh positions created by speculators following increased demand from consuming industries in the spot markets.
