Mentha oil prices were trading higher by 1.83 per cent to Rs 1,748.90 per kg in futures market today as speculators engaged in building up positions, amid pick-up in demand in domestic industries and projection of lower output .
Besides, tight stock positions due to restricted arrivals from the major producing belts of Chandausi, gave support to mentha prices.
Meanwhile, this year mentha oil output is projected at 25,000-30,000 ton as against 35,000 ton in the previous year due to fall in acreage.
