Mentha oil prices rose by 0.91 per cent to Rs 707.60 per kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged positions, tracking a firm trend at spot market on strong demand from consuming industries.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in July moved up by Rs 6.40, or 0.91 per cent to Rs 707.60 per kg in business turnover of 1,005 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in August contracts gained Rs 6.10, or 0.88 per cent to Rs 726.20 per kg in 275 lots.

Analysts said a firming trend at spot market on strong demand from consuming industries against tight supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly influenced mentha oil prices at futures trade.
