Continued its rising streak for the fourth straight day, mentha oil prices gained another 0.25 per cent to Rs 944.30 per kg in futures market today as participants engaged in enlarging their positions, tracking a firm trend at spot market rising demand.

Also, tight stocks position in the physical market on restricted supplies from producing regions, fuelled the uptrend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in February month advanced by Rs 2.40, or 0.25 per cent to Rs 944.30 per kg in business turnover of 283 lots.

In a similar fashion, the oil for delivery in March contracts traded higher by a similar margin to Rs 955 per kg in 34 lots.

Analysts said apart from trend at spot market on strong demand, restricted supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh kept mentha oil prices higher at futures trade.
