Mentha oil prices edged up by 0.38 per cent to Rs 897 per kg in futures trading today as participants built-up positions, supported by upsurge in demand from consuming industries in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in March month rose by Rs 3.40, or 0.38 per cent to Rs 897 per kg in business turnover of 391 lots.
Likewise, the oil for delivery in February contracts traded higher by Rs 2.80, or 0.32 per cent to Rs 887 per kg in 391 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions built up by traders after pick up in demand from consuming industries in the spot market against restricted supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh led to the rise in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
