Mentha oil rise 1.04% as demand picks up

Amid pick up in demand from consuming industries at domestic spot market and restricted supplies from producing regions, mentha oil prices were up by 1.04 per cent to Rs 877.10 per kg in futures trade today as participants built up fresh position.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in October rose by Rs 9, or 1.04 per cent, to Rs 877.10 per kg, in a business turnover of 252 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in November traded higher by Rs 8.50, or 0.97 per cent, to Rs 885.50 per kg in seven lots.

Marketmen said fresh positions created up by traders on tbe back of pick up in demand from consuming industries in the spot markets against restricted supplies from Chandausi led to rise in mentha oil prices in futures trade.
