Amid pick up in domestic demand and restricted supplies from producing belts, mentha oil prices were up by 0.67% to Rs 766 per kg in futures trading today as speculators created fresh positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in March month traded higher by Rs 5.10, or 0.67%, to Rs 766 per kg in business turnover of 368 lots.
Likewise, the oil for delivery in February contracts gained Rs 4.90, or 0.65%, to Rs 755.70 per kg in 382 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions built up by speculators largely on the back of pick up in demand from consuming industries in the spot market against restricted supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh led to rise in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
