German luxury car maker Mercedes- Benz today launched two new models -- C-Class Cabriolet and S-Class Cabriolet -- priced at Rs 60 lakh and Rs 2.25 crore (ex-showroom New Delhi), respectively.

Mercedes-Benz India Managing Director and CEO Roland Folger said: "The introduction of C-Class and S-Class cabriolets in India is an illustration of our 'top of pyramid' strategy of bringing in the best of our products from the global portfolio for our distinguished Indian customers."

Globally, the C-Class Cabriolet is the first ever convertible to be made on the C-Class platform by Mercedes-Benz, he further said.

"The S-Class Cabriolet is the first cabriolet introduced by the brand since 1971 and also happens to be the first cabriolet based on our flagship S-Class to make its way to India. We are very pleased to offer these two novel products which never had a predecessor in India and we are confident of a strong market response," Folger said.

This year, the company has already introduced a diverse range of products across segments, which pushed its growth story further, he added.

"We are confident of maintaining this momentum amid dynamic market challenges...The launch of the cabriolets yet again helps us in cementing our position in the niche dream car segment and offers two new products...," Folger said.

The C-Class Cabriolet features a 1,991 cc petrol engine and can reach 0-100 kmph in just 6.4 seconds, while the S-Class Cabriolet has a V8 petrol engine capable of doing 0-100 kmph in just 4.6 seconds.

Mercedes-Benz India is also offering more than 13,000 possible customisation combinations through 'designo' to the S-Class Cabriolet.
