Mercury above normal at many places in Punjab, Haryana

Maximum temperatures today hovered above normal levels at many places across Punjab and Haryana.

The maximum temperature recorded in Chandigarh was 33.5 deg C, up by a notch above normal, the MeT office said here.

Among other places in Punjab, Amritsar and Ludhiana recorded a high of 33.6 deg C and 33.8 deg C respectively. Maximum temperature settled at 33.1 deg C in Patiala.

In Haryana, Ambala and Hisar recorded maximum temperatures of 31.4 deg C and 34.5 deg C.

The MeT has forecast light to moderate rains across a few places in Punjab and Haryana tomorrow.
