Mercury dips across Rajasthan, Sikar coldest at 5.8 degrees

Cold wave conditions prevailed in Rajasthan today as the mercury dipped across several places, with Sikar recording the lowest temperature in the state at 5.8 degrees Celsius.

Minimum temperature in Churu fell by nearly 6 notches to settle at 6.9 degrees Celsius today, the Met office said.

In Alwar, the minimum temperature was recorded at 7 degrees Celsius, a fall of 4.2 degrees from yesterday.

State capital Jaipur recorded a minimum of 11.2 degrees Celsius, falling by 3.5 degrees Celsius.

Sikar's minimum was recorded at 5.8 degrees Celsius, a dip of 4.9 degrees as compared to yesterday.

Met department officials said the sudden change in weather is due to the passing out of western disturbance from the state.
 

Further fall is temperature has been forecast for next 24 hours.
