Mercury drops in capital

The mercury dropped to 6.4 degrees Celsius in Delhi today accompanied by a dense blanket of fog that considerably brought down visibility.

The minimum temperature, that was recorded at 8.30 AM, was two notches below the season's average, a weather official said.

The MeT has forecast mainly clear skies through the day and with the maximum temperature expected to be around 22 degrees Celsius.

According to the Safdarjung observatory, visibility at 8.30 AM was at 300 meters and humidity level at 97 per cent.

Yesterday, the minimum temperature settled at 5.4 degrees Celsius while the maximum was recorded at 21.2 degrees Celsius.
