Mercury drops to 7.9 degrees in Delhi

Mercury continues to drop in the city with minimum temperature at 7.9 degrees Celsius today, a notch below the season's average.

Rail traffic was affected as 24 north-bound trains were running late by several hours while four were cancelled due to bad weather.

A railway official said that eight trains were rescheduled. As visibility was normal, the flight operations were unaffected.

According to weatherman, visibility recorded at Safdarjung observatory was 1,000 meters and the same was also recorded by the Palam Observatory at 8.30 AM.

"The skies will remain clear and maximum temperature is expected to settle at 24 degrees Celsius," said an official.
 

Yesterday, the city recorded a minimum temperature of 10.4 degrees Celsius while the maximum temperature settled at 24.3 degrees Celsius.
