A fresh round of north-east western disturbance causing precipitation aggravated winter conditions in Rajasthan today.

Very light drizzle occurred in parts of north-east Rajasthan covering Jaipur, Dausa, Alwar, Bharatpur, Churu and Sriganganagar with the ongoing western disturbance (WD) and arrival of moisture from Arabian sea, a MeT official said here.

Mercury dipped during day hours at many places in north- eastern regions due to change in upper air cyclonic system bringing moisture, the official said.

Last night, Mount Abu was coldest in the state with 7.6 degree Celsius.

Meanwhile, Churu on plains recorded minimum temperature of 8.7 degree Celsius followed by Sikar 9.2, Udaipur 9.6, Sriganganagar 9.7, Jodhpur 12.4, and Jaisalmer and Barmer 14.2 degree Celsius each.

People in Jaipur experience cloudy and windy atmosphere during the day and by this evening the sky was overcast by rainy clouds, the MeT official said.

Light to moderate rains would also occur in north-east parts of the state by tomorrow morning.

Weathermen have forecast further fall in mercury during night and cold conditions would intensify in next 24 hours in the state.
