Mercury hovers around normal level in Punjab, Haryana

Maximum temperatures today hovered around normal level in most parts of Punjab and Haryana.

Hisar remained the hottest place in the region with the maximum settling at 37.7 degrees Celsius, according to a MeT department report.

Bhiwani's maximum was also on higher side at 37 degrees, while Ambala, Karnal and Narnaul recorded their maximums at 33.2, 34.4 and 35.5 degrees Celsius, respectively.

The Union Territory of Chandigarh had a high of 34 degrees Celsius and also recorded light rainfall at 1 mm.

In Punjab, the mercury in Amritsar and Ludhiana settled at 34.8 and 33.5 degrees Celsius while Patiala's high was 33.4 degrees.
 

The MeT department has predicted partly cloudy conditions with the possibility of thundershowers in some parts of Punjab and Haryana in the next 24 hours.
