Mercury rises in Rajasthan, Churu hottest

Mercury shot up at many places in Rajasthan, with the day temperature settling above normal in most parts of the state.

Churu was recorded the hottest with a maximum of 44.4 degrees Celsius, followed by Kota at 43.6 degrees, Met officials said.

Chittorgarh, Sriganganagar and Jaipur recorded maximums of 43.5, 43.3 and 42.9 degrees Celsius respectively and in other places also, mercury settled above 40 degree-mark.

The Met department predicts no respite from the scorching heat in coming days.
