As southwest monsoon continues to remain barely active in Rajasthan, mercury soared in most parts of the state with Churu recording the highest maximum temperature of 43 degree Celsius, a MeT report said today.
Mercury soared upward by one to three notches at most places in the north-west of state with the hot winds causing sweltering conditions in the state, the report said.
Kota recorded a maximum temperature of 42.7 degree Celsius, Ganganagar 41.9 degree Celsius, Jaipur and Chittorgarh 41.6 degree Celsius each, Barmer 41 degree Celsius, Bikaner 40.8 degree Celsius, Jaisalmer 40 degree Celsius, Ajmer 39.7 degree Celsius, Jodhpur 39 degree Celsius, and Udaipur 38.6 degree Celsius.
In last 24 hours the southwest monsoon was partially active in Bharatpur range where Ramgarh, Govindgarh, Bharatpur (tehsil) recorded the maximum rainfall of 2 cm, and Bansur and Weir one cm each.
Weatherman predicted that monsoon may revive in remaining areas of the state in next 48 hours.
