Press Trust of India New Delhi
The temperature soared and settled at 10.4 degrees Celsius on the first day of the year marking a break from bone chilling cold.

The mercury was three notches above the normal level and more than six degree higher from the previous day.

Yesterday, the minimum temperature was recorded at 4 deg C while on Monday it had dipped to 2.4 deg C.

The city woke up to a foggy and cloudy morning. However, as the day progressed, fog cleared and made way for a clear day.

The maximum temperature today was registered at 18.2 deg C which was two degrees below normal but that too was slightly up from yesterday's 17.6 degrees Celsius.

The weathermen have predicted a partly cloudy, fog-filled morning tomorrow which is expected to give way to a clear sky later in the day.

The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to remain at 19 and 7 deg C respectively.
