Merger of 8 gram panchayats with Yavatmal council notified

Maharashtra government has issued a notification announcing annexation of eight gram panchayats in the vicinity of Yavatmal with the city's municipal council.

The notification was issued yesterday.

Some of the residents of these villages had taken objection to the move to merge the villages with Yavatmal council during the hearing on the issue.

These eight panchayats are Wadgaon, Umarsara, Waghapur, Pimpalgaon, Moha, Bhosa, Yavatmal gramin and Dolamba.

Dorli and Godhani have been dropped from the original list. Lohara has been given a special status of industrial township as an MIDC is situated in the village.
