Oscar-winner Meryl Streep is set to be the new addition to Jeff Bridges starrer drama "The Giver", an adaptation of Lois Lowry's dystopian children's novel.
The film is a co-production between The Weinstein Company and Walden Media and is being directed by Phil Noyce, reported Deadline.
Streep, 64, is in talks to play the chief elder, the authoritarian charged with keeping order in a society that seems utopian. They have eliminated pain and strife by converting to "Sameness" a plan that has also eradicated emotional depth from their lives.
