MESTA seeks tax exemption from Maharashtra government

The Maharashtra English School Trustees Association (MESTA) has made several demands to the Maharashtra government including exemption of taxes levied on school buildings.

A MESTA delegation led by its founder-president Sanjay Tayde met the District Education Officer of Thane Zilla Parishad yesterday and submitted a memorandum in this regard, a release by MESTA said today.

As per the release, the other demands include separate act for protection of the English medium schools, right to cancel the admission of the students who fail to pay the fees of the past years.

Thane Zilla Parishad Education Officer Meena Yadav assured the delegation that their issues would be taken up with the state government.
